Companies that advertise "we buy real estate". we did this 3 years ago and our contract is up June 4 2001 and they have lied to me. our credit is ruined as they defaulted on both loans on house, house is in foreclosure and they will not allow me to take over house back. Contacted 3 lawyers.One requested $3000.00 retainer, one suggested bankruptcy and the other will not return call. The house has been completely destroyed. Where can I go for help? My husband is severely disabled from a head injury and we are often scammed by lawyers, car dealers etc... This company is not licensed, so real estate commission will not go there. I have contacted BBB of Akron, 3 lawyers,our newspaper. I will write to anyone that will help other consumers to be warned. our life is ruined, both financially and healthwise.The government needs to close these places down as for what they do to consumers is criminal and their LIES are getting very old. You can apply for S.S.D. online now, or atleast get the applications you need. The first thing you might want to do though is find an attorney and enter a civil suit against the company, owner, etc. Information I've been able to find so far: Stay in your home for now. You may not qualify for assistance if you abandon your property. Contact a HUD-approved housing counseling agency . They have information on services and programs that could help you. The housing counseling agency may also offer credit counseling. These services are usually free of charge. If you bought your home with a Veterans Administration (VA) guaranteed loan, call the VA office nearest you. ALSO: Homeowners with problems that could result in default of their mortgage or foreclosure on their property need to contact a HUD-approved housing counseling agency immediately at 1-888-466-3487. I hope you get this completely worked thru. There are several suffering such as yourself. And more and more ways are becoming available to work them thru. I can't help you more than this.
