I went to Sears to get a nail removed from my tire and to have it patched or plugged. I was told I would have to wait 1 1/2 hours, but first the mechanic/salesperson had to look at my tires. I was told my tires did not have enough tread on them to support doing a repair. I would need new tires. The man said I had a "3" on the tire and they just could not do it. He gave me a lecture about proper care of tires. Sears rotates and balances tires for free if you purchas them at their store. He refuse to fix the tire. Fine, I said, then please just put the spare on and that way I can have some time to think about the kind of new tires I wanted. He rolled his eyes and got pissed off and that is when I left. I went to Colony Tire and they immediately fixed the tire and sent me on my way. They never mentioned the tread or asked me to consider buying new tires.
