I purchased a 2002 Grand Caravan on May 25, 2005. I have had nothing but problems with the van ever since. I purchased it at the Carmax in White Marsh, Maryland. I have had the following happen since I've had this vehicle. Within the first month, the windshield wiper completely bent up while I was driving on the highway in the middle of the rain, then the cd player that was installed was not working, I eventually gave that back to them and purchased a cd player from Best Buy and had it installed by Best Buy. Next, Check Engine Light On, Brakes were supposedly put on (6/3/05), Check Engine Light on (6/15/05), Rubbery noise when turning steering wheel (8/5/05), Power window, driver side stopped working & knocking/ clicking noise when turning steering wheel (8/19/05), rubber and knocking noise when steering (9/27/05), Check Engine Light on & driver side window off track (11/11/05), currently...Check Engine Light on, driver side window off track again, still hearing knocking/clicking sounds when turning, had to get new brake shoes put on (12/19/05), there is some other rubbery, grinding noise (sometimes)when braking, the speedometer and tachometer needles jump completely around the higher end of the meters when I am in parked mode and start the van. I do not want to take the vehicle to Carmax to get it repaired anymore. So, I have to pay a $75 deductible to take it somewhere else, plus pay whatever they charge to hook it up to a diagnostic machine. I currently have open complaints with the BBB and the Attorney General. I am making monthly car payments and Carmax expects me to rent a vehicle for the time that they keep my vehicle to repair it. I asked them why would I rent a small car, when I need a van? They will only cover for a small car, not to the size that your vehicle is. I am also trying to contact an attorney about this matter. I have had enough of their unprofessionalism and incompetence. Their explanation for things that keep going wrong: A car has a thousand moving parts, etc...That is a poor excuse to cover up their not knowing what they are doing. I am sorry I ever stepped foot in that place. I wish I would have went to some other dealership to purchase a car. I believed that they thoroughly checked over these cars before they sold them and that they didn't sell junk. I hope in the end that victory will be mine (OURS). They should not be allowed to continue to jack people. I would like to see them out of business. IP: Logged |
