I recently had to file a formal complaint after the "Customer Service" manager, Sean, repeatedly hung up the phone on me while I was trying to verify a shipping and receiving address. I paid this outfit $1,450 for an engine, which I received....two major problems. 1. They sent me the wrong engine and, 2. The engine was seized and didn't work, which we only found out just before my mechanic went to install it. I couldn't believe the way they handled their customers. He actually cused and yelled at me on the phone for DOING HIS JOB!! Attached is the letter I recently sent to them demanding a refund in attempt to resolve the issue. To: Sean, Owner - Mid City Auto Salvage

Dear, Sean
As a courtesy to your business, I would like to give you one last chance to rectify what has become a very difficult and unfair situation.
The purpose of this letter is to inform you that if you do not resolve the dispute I have with your business in a fair and equitable way by November 10, 2005, I have no choice but to take my complaint to the organizations listed on the enclosed page. This list is by no means exhaustive and I will filing complaints with numerous other consumer agencies.
I want to believe that your business does not typically treat its customers the way you have treated me. Please make things right so I do not have to take the next step.
What I am requesting is that you refund the amount of $1,495.00 (paid to you on 7/19/05 by check) that I paid to your business in good faith that you would provide me with the correct and working engine for my 1994 Land Rover/Range Rover 4.2L County Edition. Or provide me with the correct replacement engine, as promised. To date, I still do not have the engine I paid for.
Please understand that time has run out on this issue, as I have been dealing with this for approximately 5 months now. As you can see by the enclosed letter describing how your business treated me, and the list of reporters and government agencies on the following sheet, I am prepared to take action on November 10, 2005 if you and your business do not follow through and resolve this situation in a way that is fair and equitable to me.
Now it's up to you. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Regards,
Concerned Consumer
