i have a 1993 mazda rx7 with 38,000 mi, in perfect condition. the problem is it's title. i met michael in 1996 he was 48 and i 50. he had never been married or had children. we fell in love. he lived in philadelphia, pa and i in st. louis, mo. he loved cars, in 1996 he bought this car from his then landlords, john and margaret hobe. the car was in margarets name and it was not right for her. mike got a loan for $24,000 from chase auto finance in oct 1998 and paid john and margatet hobe, they had bought the car from at&t auto service in so. carolina. mike moved to st louis in 1998. he tried to register the car in mo and get it licensed but found he could not because the title had never been transfered to him. he put his beloved car in storage and continued his efforts to get a title, all the while paying chase auto finance with interest. the hobes did not or would not help. chase would not help, he paid his loan to chase off in sep 2001 and had the car inspected renewing his effort to title it. oct 2001 he was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer. he had lost his job and did not have health insurance. he shot and killed himself on dec 13, 2001. i am his heir, i currently store the car in my garage but need to sell this house soon and don't know what to do with this car. chase auto sent me a letter telling me that the car was titled to margaret hobe and at&t auto service has a lein on it. the hobes do not return my calls, letters or emails. john is a cabinet maker and antiques dealer in or around chestnut hill, pa. i don't know where to look for at&t auto. any help or advise will be greatly appreciated. nancy moore[This message has been edited by njm71546@charter.net (edited 09-15-2002).] [This message has been edited by njm71546@charter.net (edited 09-15-2002).] IP: Logged |
