Homecomings Financial bought my mortgage from my original lender evidently the end of last year...mind you, I only refinanced my loan in November of last year. Well, I was not aware of the change in lenders until JULY of this year!! No notice was given to me, no communication, no registered letter, nothing. My previous lender was Regions Bank and they were kind enough to send my AUTOMATIC bank payments ON TO Homecomings Financial.
In July I received notice from REGIONS that my loan had been sold back the end of 2003 and that they would no longer send on my payments to Homecomings Financial. I was DEVASTATED as I had been using the automatic payments, on time, etc. to reestablish my credit!! Anyway, I changed my automatic payments through my bank to go to Homecomings as of August...the bank rep and I were BOTH assured over the phone that "that is fine, we'll note the mistake, it won't be held against you".
Well, as of the first week of October they had not 'accepted' or cashed my payments for August OR September...THEN, I get ALL the checks back in the mail including one from APRIL?!! AND, find out from my bank that they had not 'accepted' my October payment!!
So...THEN in October I got a letter from some company called Specialized, Inc. out of Leesburg, VA saying I had 10 days to reply and get my account current with Homecomings or they would FORECLOSE!!!! ALSO...notice that Homecomings has LOST my Deed Of Trust!!!!!!!
I tried repeadedly to contact Homecomings Financial or Specialized thru their 800 numbers and keep getting 'cut off', put on 'hold' or 'transferred'...no luck or 'platitudes' saying they understood and "it will all be worked out/posted/give it time, etc."...
Well, November 2, 2004 I received notice of a TRUSTEE'S SALE of my home for November 16, 2004!!!!!!!!!!! Less than TWO WEEKS!!
Homecomings Financial seems to be in the 'business' of CHEATING people OUT of their homes based on everything I've seen written online...scared me so much a couple of weeks age that I posted my complaint on a class action site and now have a law firm in NY interested in a class action suit against Homecomings...they are GREAT people at the law firm...helping me personally so I won't (hopefully) lose my home to this FRAUDULENT company.
If any of you out there have any suggestions for help or know anyone who has/had problems with Homecomings...PLEASE have them post and/or email me ASAP--The law firm, Wolf Popper, NY is looking into CLASS ACTION SUIT against Homecomings Financial. You may email me or the lawyer:
