Dear Gentleperson:
I am writing this letter to you to express my displeasure and downright anger over your current promotion of Dexter's Laboratory toys. We have just returned from our second trip to the local Dairy Queen here in Meridian, MS without any Dexter toy whatsoever to show for it.
My son and daughter, who are twins and 3 years old, loves Dexter and have seen your commercials on television concerning your promotion. We have informed them on several occasions thet we would take them to Dairy Queen and get kids' meals so that they might enjoy this promotion. On our first trip, we were told after we had been given their food that the store was "temporarily out" of the toys and that they would have some in by the end of the week. This was Tuesday, May 22nd. We returned this evening and were again told that the store had none of the toys and that they were sorry but there was "nothing they could do".
Now, I do not know if you have children, but my children's hearts have been broken on two occasions now and my wife and myself had to try to explain to them why they couldn't have a Dexter toy after we had come to the location that supposedly carried them. I was infuriated after this last trip. If you are going to run a promotion, I suggest you run it; I almost suspect fraud in this case.
The old "bait and switch" scheme. Burger King did this a year or two ago with the Teletubbie promotion and got burnt by it; it appears that you are making the same mistake. I doubt if we will ever return to Dairy Queen and you have created a walking advertisement of negativism towards your company in the form of my word of mouth.
